Dr. Guy’s areas of specialty are facial cosmetic surgery, breast surgery, liposuction and body contouring, laser skin rejuvenation, cosmetic medicine, injectable relaxers and fillers, and medical-grade skin care for all skin problems.
She has the distinction of serving the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) in 2007 as its first female president. The ASPS is the largest organization of board-certified plastic surgeons in the world, with over 6,000 members. Dr. Guy also served as a written and oral examiner for the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and was a member of its Cosmetic Advisory Council for content for the Board Written Examination and for its Maintenance of Certification Program.
In 1996 and 1997, Dr. Guy was the Medical Staff President for the largest local hospital in the area, Health First Holmes Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Guy was named Southern Illinois University (SIU) School of Medicine Alumnus of the Year for 2004 in recognition of her “outstanding contributions to medicine and distinguished service to humankind”. SIU also elected Dr. Guy to the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society.
Over the years, she has published numerous papers and abstracts. She has delivered more than 250 presentations locally, nationally and internationally, and has appeared on several television programs. Her most recent presentations include as faculty at the Southeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons Atlanta Breast Symposium in January 2012, where she performed a live revisionary breast surgery, and as a presenter on fat injections at the annual meeting of ASPS in New Orleans in October of 2012.
Dr Guy is intent on helping patients obtain “beauty for life” through her holistic approach to plastic surgery, overall health, prevention, maintenance and follow-up – through all stages of that person’s life. Dr. Guy loves her work…..and it shows!!
