ARCHIVE ARTICLE: Brevard Plastic Surgery & Skin Treatment Center Adds
Permanent Make-Up Services
Licensed Aesthetician Norah Felton Obtains Certification State-of-the-art digital equipment saves time and improves results with no down time
Brevard Plastic Surgery & Skin Treatment Center now offers permanent make-up services. Norah Felton, a licensed aesthetician at Brevard Plastic Surgery & Skin Treatment Center for the past two years, has obtained permanent make-up certification after completing classroom and hands-on training.
Known in the industry as Micro Pigmentation, the most sought after permanent make-up options include permanent eyeliner, eyebrows, lip liner or lip color. The technology is also used in conjunction with nipple repair after breast reconstruction. Using state-of-the-art digital equipment, Felton is able to reduce the procedure time, and patients are able to return to their regular schedule with no down time. Results last three to five years, requiring only minor touchups thereafter.
“By adding permanent make-up to our array of services, we are giving many of our patients a new option for enhancing their features,” says Norah Felton. “As we grow older, some of our natural beauty fades – the color in our lips, the definition in our eyebrows, for example. Using permanent make-up, we can refresh that natural beauty and give patients back their confidence, restoring what they’ve lost, or enhancing what remains,” Felton adds.
Certified as an aesthetician in 1998, Norah Felton has considerable experience working with faces, specializing in conditions that affect the skin including adult and adolescent acne, Rosacea, and anti-aging treatments. Felton’s credentials also include seven years as a professional make-up artist and she considers her diversity of training to be a real benefit to her patients. “I feel that my professional training has not only provided the technical expertise needed to work with patients, but an opportunity to develop special sensibilities that allow me to “see” the right options for their skin, with an eye for color, and a clear vision for their natural beauty,” Felton says.
In addition, Felton finds that working in a professional plastic surgery center adds new dimension to her services. “I often work in tandem with my colleague, Denise Pardue, who works with patients seeking laser skin treatments. We may offer patients a combined treatment approach for the best
results,” says Felton. Pardue, a ARNP-C, (Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner) offers patients such laser treatments as MicroLaserPeel, ArcticPeel, vascular procedures, skin resurfacing, hair removal, PhotoRejuvenation and Thermascan collagen lightening.
“We are excited to add this service to our practice,” says Roxanne Guy, MD, F.A.C.S. a board-certified plastic surgeon and founder of Brevard Plastic Surgery & Skin Treatment Center. “The level of education, professionalism, and experience of our staff is the most important benefit to our patients,” adds Dr. Guy, “and Norah’s certification is another addition to that professionalism.”
